Led by dance professional, Lori Hamar, TAILSPIN is being developed as an integrated dance company – integrating able-bodied dancers with those that have a mobility disability. Beginning in September, with accompaniment from a live musician, Lori will lead 12 free two-hour workshops. The workshops will have the side benefit of increasing your range of movement and strength, but ultimately, they will be focused on creating dance pieces for performance. These workshops are suitable for those individuals who want to try something new, have a passion for music and dance, and are willing to explore all possibilities. Lori’s background with integrated dance makes her classes supportive and dynamic. Each disabled dancer will have the opportunity to work in tandem with an able bodied dancer. Classes take place in an accessible hall with wood floors at the Gordon Head Rec Centre. If you’re interested, please go to www.DanceVictoria.com and click on Community Outreach for more information.
