HIV/AIDS Info-Line

AIDS Vancouver Island (AVI) is a community-based AIDS Service Organization (ASO) which provides education, support, and advocacy for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and other communicable diseases. Society offices in the communities of Greater Victoria, Nanaimo, the Comox Valley, and Campbell River, and services in the Port Hardy area. Service geographic area includes all of the Gulf Islands.
AIDS Vancouver Island provides education, advocacy and support to clients. AVI provides education and harm reduction information to schools, the broader community and target populations. Evidence demonstrates that comprehensive prevention programs can help to effectively contain HIV, hepatitis C, and other communicable diseases.
AIDS Vancouver Island provides integrated services to individuals with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, tuberculosis and other communicable diseases, and the Street Outreach Services provides services for people who use drugs by injection, including management the country’s oldest needle exchange program since 1988.
