About Us
The Victoria Disability Resource Centre is a non-profit organization that assists people with all types of disabilities to lead independent lives. We provide Information and Referral Services, distribute Parking Permits, host Peer Support activities, as well as offer opportunities to learn new skills and receive support to Access Employment.
Serving the Greater Victoria community since 1990, we are proud to be an accredited member of Independent Living Canada, a national network of disability resource centres across Canada. Our Centre is operated by and for persons with disabilties.
The Independent Living approach to providing services recognizes the rights of citizens with disabilities to take control of their lives by examining choices, making informed decisions and taking risks. We work closely with individuals with disabilities and with other community organizations to find and remove barriers that prevent full participation in life.
